Our Story
The Revel Threads Journey So Far

Revel Threads started as an idea stitched together from years of admiring the creativity and flamboyance of the festival scene. I’ve always been drawn to vibrant clothing and dressing up, from entering fancy dress competitions as a kid to performing in bands through my teens and twenties. Festivals, especially Boomtown, completely changed the way I think about expression. The freedom, the creativity, the people… it all inspired me to start creating things in the hope that others feel that same energy.
It all began with a simple idea: if someone else can make it, I can make it. That attitude first took shape in 2014, when I started making guitar straps after mine disappeared at a house party. The first one I made was a red and black paisley design that got a lot of attention, and before long I was selling straps around the world through Etsy under the name Sexy Straps. It was my first taste of turning creativity into something people could actually utilise and connect with.

A few years later my focus shifted from guitar straps to clothing. I attended Boomtown for the first time in 2016, then for the 2017 festival I made my first tailored piece: a metallic brocade paisley tailcoat with a faux silk lining, hidden pockets, and a place for sunglasses. That was the moment I realised how much I loved designing things that were as practical as they were expressive.
Fast forward to 2024. My trusty old festival coat, a black faux moleskin charity shop find, had become my most prized possession. It had seen countless adventures, but it was time for something new. Around the same time, my fiancée and I were planning our festival-style wedding, and I decided to make us each the best festival coat I could for the big day. It was chaotic to say the least, especially since hers was a surprise. I had to work in secret, listening out for her footsteps and hiding the half-finished coat whenever she came upstairs. But when I finally finished them, I knew I’d created something special.
As soon as I took the coats to a festival, people wanted to try them on, feel them, and pose in them. That’s when I realised this wasn’t just a one-off project, it was the start of something bigger.
Now, Revel Threads is about more than clothing. It’s about creating pieces that are functional, expressive, and made to last. The Ultimate Festival Coat and Luxe Festival Coat are designed to keep you comfortable and carefree, with secure pockets, cosy trims, and even cooler compartments for drinks.

Beyond fashion, Revel Threads is growing into a creative community. Through YouTube tutorials, upcycling projects, and new designs like multifunctional bags and trousers, I want to help others learn, make, and express themselves in their own way.
At its heart, Revel Threads is about curiosity, creativity, and connection. When we create boldly and wear what we love, we’re not just dressing up, we’re reveling in life itself.
